Voyage en Italie

Day 6 & 7

Dear readers,

Friday February 25, in Turin, in the morning, we  visited the Egyptian museum.

It was a pleasing to the eyes.

The collections were exceptional and included many statues, sarcophagi, mummies, everyday objects and jewelry as well as a series of papyri.

In the afternoon, we visited the historic center of the city of Milan following a circuit from Piazza San Carlo square to Porta Palentina. We discovered Piazza Carignano, the Galleria dell’Industria Subalpina and Piazza Castello.

At 7:00 p.m., we had dinner at the restaurant. On the menu, a delicious pizza and a succulent chocolate ice cream from Turin plunged us into the Italian atmosphere, and then we took the coach to Amiens. It was a quiet night in the bus. Only a few breaks disturbed the tranquility that reigned inside…

Saturday, February 26, around 8:00 a.m., the teachers offered pastries to the students. At 9:00 a.m., the students were glad to get back to their parents…

During this week, we were spoiled by the weather : Sun, sun and sun.

Already many memories of this very rich week remind us about Italy…

Day 5

Thursday February 24

Dear readers,

This morning we visited the Monza circuit. It is located next to Milan.

First, we were told the history of the circuit. It was built in 1922.

It has 2 tracks: an oval and a sinuous one (parabolic). Many pilots died on this circuit like Fangio. Then we visited the huge conference rooms and those reserved for the press and the management offices. Finally, we did two laps in our bus: the driver, Tom, showed us the horses sleeping in the engine!

In the afternoon, we visited the National Museum of Science and Technology Leonardo da Vinci. We discovered many inventions of this inventor like the plane, the parachute, the gear, chain, and cog/wheel …

Day 4

Dear readers,

Yesterday, we started the day with a breakfast at 7:30 am. Then, we took the bus and headed to Bologna which is

well-known for the color of its red walls.

We ate at Piazza Maggiore before going to the Lamborghini museum. We discovered the story between Ferrari and Lamborghini who started by creating tractors, as he came from an agricultural background.

Finally, we enjoyed a delicious meal: pasta- again !
